Big Surprise: Shady Stops for Children

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

What a massive surprise.  A van that stops for kids.  I didn’t see that coming (but neither will the kids).
Not sure what this van does or why it stops, and why children would be crossing in front of it, but a closer look into the window shows that it’s carrying no inventory or boxes….

I Heart Shady

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Holey moley.  Is that a freakin’ heart?
That’s a custom window job there, Shady.  Nothing defeats the spirit of hope in a youngster than seeing a bleak amount of sunlight poke through a heart-shaped window.  Painting the van black can’t hurt either — it must get to be 106 degrees in there in the summer.

Department of Shady and Power

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Inconspicuously parked next to what seems to be a Department of Water and Power building, this shady has too many windows to really be dangerous… or is that the trick?????

Short Bus Shady

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

If you get lured into this shadester, it’s your own fault.  It’s a short bus shady.  Come on.
It’s parked right outside an unsuspecting (really?) housing development.  Yes, there is a massive window in the back, but it’s covered with a curtain.
Shady Rating = 7.7

The Shady Brown Gate

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Yikes.  Parked by itself in the back of what looks to be a seaside parking lot.  Black glazed windows.  Not a rear double-hatch, but a single (and tough to open from the inside, no doubt) back door.
All the finishing touches (including the shadiest dirty tires we’ve seen in a while) needed to make this into [...]

Family Shady

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Don’t be mistaken.  This shiny, family-looking vacation wagon is a shady-in-disguise.  What better distraction than to look like a friendly traveling band?
Shaded windows are a plus.  Also, it’s parked in front of a hotel.  Waiting for check-out stragglers.
Shady Rating = 8.2

Shady on the Freeway

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Saw this shady on the freeway, making a speedy getaway.  And if you had any question to the shadiness… [Blank] Creek Free Press?

Shady Rating = 5.8.  Lots of windows, but an interesting luggage rack on top.  Perhaps used for strapping down Big Wheels?

Where are you off to in such a rush, shady?
Why don’t you pop open those back doors and let us see your wares?

Shady Rating = 7.2.

Ho-Hum Shady Van

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Shady Rating = 2.  Lots of windows, public location.  Not really a full van.  More of the mini-van variety.  Almost not worth mentioning.  Marginally shady.  Slow day in Shadyville.
I guess you could hide an abducted kid under a blanket, and hope that everyone is distracted by the shiny rims.  Seriously, rims?
